Tru Landscape received a call this week from a church school located in Tustin, California. They needed their playground re-landscaped. We installed synthetic grass and concrete walkways.

Tustin California is located in Orange County California and is surrounded by the cities of Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin Ranch, and Irvine. Our customer needed a new playground that included synthetic grass (also known as synthetic turf), new deck construction, and hardscape concrete work as well. The project took approximately 10 days to complete and came out looking great!

About Our Synthetic Turf Project

Tru Landscape showed up to the job at about 8:00 am during the week while the church is fairly quiet. We started by removing 4″ of top soil with our bobcats and hauled it away to the landfill. Next, we installed decomposed granite, achieving a 90 % compaction rate. This is important for the synthetic turf’s longevity. Next we installed a landscape fabric that is used to keep weeds out of the new synthetic turf areas. After this we installed a plastic border that is used to hold the synthetic turf in place in high traffic areas. Next we installed a 3″ Concrete for the base that supports the landscape pavers (landscape tiles). The next process involved us installing our pavers (landscape tiles) on top of the base concrete surface. Next we installed Trex decking for the deck portions of the project. We like to use Trex because it’s a composite material that last for a very long time. Lastly we installed the new synthetic grass which carries an eight year manufacturer warranty. Lastly the equipment was installed and the trees were planted. Lastly, we cleaned all of the project areas.
