Orange County Interlocking Pavers
TRU Landscape Services was awarded a landscape project in Costa Mesa. Costa Mesa is located in Orange County and is surrounded by the cities of Newport Beach, Fountain Valley, and Huntington Beach. We began this project with the install of interlocking pavers. In order to give our customer the longest lasting interlocking pavers, we started out digging out six inches of dirt for the whole patio area. By removing six inches of dirt it allowed us to pitch the pavers away from the building, so that all the water would run away from the building. Our bobcat usually makes quick work of the dirt removal, but this project had a huge Ash tree. This Ash tree had huge roots running through the entire yard. We had to make a quick call and have another crew member pick up our stump grinder. This machine grinds roots and stumps into small pieces of wood. With both machines working hard we were able to get the entire patio area dug out in two days. With over 20 years in business in Orange County, TRU Landscape Services have several different types of machines to make our job as easy as possible and provide our customers with the most professional services. After removing the top six inches of dirt we installed a road base product. Road base is made up of crushed concrete. This base allows us to provide a level and firm foundation for our interlocking pavers. This part of installing interlocking pavers is where allot of companies will cheat their customers. They will install very little road base. This causes the pavers to sink in the future. The major problem is the pavers look good in the beginning but soon start sinking. By the time the customer notices the pavers sinking; these fly by night, non license companies our long gone. Hire a license contractor. The customer saves money in the beginning but pays more in the long run by using these low ball companies. After compacting the road base we install a small amount of Decomposed granite (DG) by doing this it gives a level surface to install the pavers properly. Our customer already had pavers installed in another part of their yard and asked if we could match the pavers. This was no problem for our professional installers. We also match the existing pattern too. We install our border pavers in concrete this allows us to establish the grade and gives us a stronger edge. After installing the majority of the pavers, we were now to the part of the project that makes or breaks a good paver install, the small pieces. You can notice a bad install by the sloppy cuts made on the small pieces of pavers. Our professional installers did a great job.
