Mission Viejo Landscape

TRU Landscape Services just finished installing a project in Mission Viejo. Mission Viejo is located in Orange County California. Our company installed 4 elements to this backyard. First, we built a planter wall along the back of the property. Then we installed an interlocking Paver walkway, which ran to a small sit down area. After completing the pavers we installed a new irrigation system. For the final part of this project, we installed a sod lawn. TRU Landscape Services has been servicing Orange County for over 25 years.

Block Walls

TRU Landscape Services can build several different types of block walls. We work throughout Orange County. On this project our customer wanted to match the existing block walls on their property. After removing the entire backyard we started digging the footing for the wall. Once we finished the footing our Hardscape crew took over to build the planter wall. This was a basic wall that we installed. We offered different designs to our customer, but they really just wanted to keep it simple. They did however add some bull nose bricks to a small part of the sitting area. Our customers really liked the way the wall was designed and installed.

Interlocking Pavers

TRU Landscape Services has offered a large variety of interlocking pavers in Orange County for the last 15 years. After completing the wall our crew started working on installing the interlocking pavers. It’s important to have a company that won’t skip a step when installing pavers. Soft Scape Orange County

Once all of the hardscape was completed our crews started installing a sprinkler system. This sprinkler system was installed on a automatic timer. The system covered all of the grass and planters in the backyard. TRU Landscape Services installs the most efficient sprinkler systems in Orange County to help save our customers money on their water bills. Most people don’t put much thought into their sprinkler systems. They will hire their gardener to install the sprinkler system and it will end up watering the streets and everything else except the grass. Laguna Hills Landscape

Laguna Hills Landscape

TRU Landscape Services completed a landscape in Laguna Hills. Laguna Hills is a small town in Orange County, California and is surrounded by Laguna Beach and Laguna Niguel. We were called out for a free estimate and right away we could tell that this customer knew what they wanted. The customer did mention that 3 companies were giving estimates. After taking the measurements, we emailed the estimate over. Shortly after the customer called us back and hired us. They pointed out that out of the 3 estimates they received they chose us because ours was the most detailed.

Concrete Installation

On day one we set up our grades and started lying out the drain pipes. After installing the drains in the backyard, we started to install the concrete forms. This project was made up of several smaller squares of concrete. This requires a lot of set up. We had our customer close by at all times, to answer our questions. This design was all laid out on drawings, but the drawings were not to scale. After installing concrete in Orange County for the last 20+ years, we have learned it’s better to ask a lot of questions up front rather then have to remove the concrete and replace it. Flagstone Walkway

TRU Landscape Services can provide all of your outdoor needs. One of the services we provide is installing Flagstone. On this project we installed a stairway up to the front doors. These steps were bordered with a landscape timber. The landing of the steps had Flagstone installed on them. Flagstone is a natural stone and some of the stones may not be that strong of a stone, so when we install Flagstone we always install at least 3 1/2 inches of concrete first. This provides a strong foundation for the stones to lay on. We have seen other contractors set flagstone in a small layer of concrete or even install them over sand. If you want your flagstone to remain in place for several years it’s best to install a good foundation first.

Landscape Lighting

TRU Landscape Services has been installing landscape lighting for over 25 years in Orange County. There are several lighting manufactures to choose from. We have one company that we have worked with for at least the last 15 years. This company builds the lights here in California and has excellent customer service. On this project we installed LED lights. The customer has several steps on this property and it’s always a good idea to install path lights on these steps. Low voltage lighting not only provides a beautiful night scape but also provides security. The LED lights only use a small amount of electricity. The manufacture gives great warranties on the lights. Orange County Landscape

TRU Landscape Services installed a residential landscape this week. This project consists of several smaller projects. We installed a concrete patio, planter wall, putting green and low voltage lighting. The customer told us that he had received several estimates, but very few companies did all of the work themselves. The customer did not want several sub contractors working on this small project. Our customer was too busy to deal with several companies. Plus the customer felt really confident that TRU Landscape Services could complete the projects in a professional manner. When dealing with a smaller project we must carefully line up all of the jobs. If we sent over all of our crews at once  there would be a traffic jam.

Orange County Hardscape

On the first day of the project we removed all of the old landscape which included the concrete. The old concrete was raised in several areas and needed to be replaced. Our crew graded the yard so that all of the water ran away from the house. We then dug the footing for the planter wall. On the second day the block crew started installing the concrete footing and the first row of blocks. At the same time our concrete crew was setting forms for the new concrete. On the third day we installed the new concrete. The concrete pour went smoothly and we moved on to the putting green.

Laguna Niguel Landscape

Synthetic Putting Green

TRU Landscape Services installs several Synthetic turf projects a year. This project was too small to install by itself. But because we were doing the other small projects it allowed us to install this putting green. If you were to install a small putting green by itself  it would cost too much. We use all American made products. Most of the artificial turf has a 15 year warranty from the manufacture. The customers dog loved the new Synthetic turf.

Low Voltage Lighting

On our final day of work we installed the LED low voltage lights. These lights are made here in California and have a 10 year manufacture warranty. We have a close working relationship with our light supplier. They are always teaching us about the newest products on the market. Even though LED lights have been out for several years the new technology changes all the time. The new LED lights use 20% of the energy that the halogen bulbs used. With the price of electricity always on the rise these lights will pay for themselves in just a few years. Overall the project went smoothly and our customer was very happy.

Orange County Landscape

TRU Landscape Services just completed a landscape project in Yorba Linda California. This landscape project had several different details. Which included : a Pondless waterfall, Interlocking Pavers, and several smaller projects. TRU Landscape Services has been installing all of your landscaping in Orange County for over 25 years. During a landscape install there are several smaller projects that must be done in the right order. A good example is that the sprinkler pipes must be installed under the walkway before the interlocking pavers can be installed. Orange county Interlocking Pavers

TRU Landscape Services removed all of the concrete driveways and walkways in one day. It took 3 bobcat tractors, one 18 wheeler dump truck and several smaller trucks to complete this work.

On the next day we installed all of the underground pipes and wires. Right away our interlocking crew started installing the base for the pavers. Our design team had already showed our customers several different styles and colors of interlocking pavers. So right after prepping the base we started installing the driveway and walkways. It took our crew roughly 3 days to complete this part of the project. The customers were really happy because they could park their cars in the driveway right away. Unlike concrete we always recommend not parking on the driveway for several days.

Orange County Ponds

TRU Landscape Services loves installing water features. There are several types of water features we can install for you. One of the most popular ones right now is a pondless waterfall. The benefits are very low maintenance and they are very safe to have children around. Our project in Yorba Linda was spread out enough that while one crew was working on the interlocking pavers there was enough room to start the pondless waterfalls. On this water feature we installed 2 small creeks running through the front yard. These creeks are only a few inches deep but they provide the sound and beauty that Orange County lacks due to our dry climate.  Our design team walked the customers through the design of the creeks. Orange County Landscape

TRU Landscape Services just finished a Landscape renovation in Orange County. The Church that hired us had over 100 Rose bushes in the front of the church. This was a problem because after Sunday services the children would be playing in the rose bushes.  Another problem the church had was a busy street in front of the property. During the week the church has a child care program and there is no fence to keep the children from running out into the street. The first phase of this landscape renovation was to move the Rose bushes. The church didn’t want to throw away the roses, so we moved them onto another part of the property. The best time of the year to move roses is during the winter. So the first problem we faced was that it was the middle of the summer and it was very hot outside. This is not the best time of the year to move the roses. After explaining this to our customer we agreed to move forward. On the first day we moved all of the Roses and started the irrigation.

Orange County Sprinklers

TRU Landscape Services provides all different types of irrigation services in Orange County. For these Rose Bushes we installed the new Toro water saver nozzles. First we installed new pipes along all of the roses. Then we installed the new sprinklers. After flushing the new sprinklers out we installed the water saving nozzles. Right after finishing the sprinkler system we turned on the water. We thought it would be best to water the Roses twice a day. We are happy to say that all of the Roses lived through the landscape renovation.

Orange County Block Wall

The second phase of this project was to install a new fence around the front of the property. First we installed the block pilasters. We built the pilasters out of Split Face blocks. These blocks do cost more to install but we feel like the appearance is well worth the money. After finishing the block pilasters we moved forward to the installing of the Wrought Iron fencing. Our customer was extremely happy with the new fencing!!

TRU Landscape Services just finished a landscape project in Anaheim. The city of Anaheim is surrounded by the cities of Yorba Linda and Orange. Disneyland is located in the city of Anaheim. Our project was to install sprinklers, concrete curb and low water plants. We gave the customer an estimate and went over some ideas with them. Shortly after that they hired us to landscape their front yard. The customer wanted a dry river running through their front yard. TRU Landscape Services thought that a concrete curb would be the best application to outline the dry river bed.

Bobcat Orange County

The area in which we were landscaping had a huge mound of dirt. This mound was causing the water to run towards the house. This wasn’t good, we were surprised that the house didn’t have water damage. So on the first day of work we took our Bobcat and removed the dirt down to a level grade. We did leave a little pitch on the yard so that the water would drain forward away from the house. After removing the dirt we installed the sprinklers. For this project we installed Rain bird 4” 1800 series. We installed all new pipes and fittings. Landscape Borders

After finishing the first day we came back on the second day and installed a concrete curb for the dry river bed. We prefer using this style of landscape border. Being made out of  concrete the curb should last for many years of enjoyment.  After finishing the border we installed a landscape fabric to block future weeds from growing. Next we placed the boulders in place.

Low Water Plants

On the final day we installed the gravel down the dry river. Next we installed all of the plants. This area could have been installed with grass, but by installing low water plants, this customer will save hundreds of dollars on water. Not to mention that these plants won’t need to be trimmed or cleaned but for a couple times a year. Mailbox Installation

TRU Landscape Services was called back to Anaheim Hills. After completion of the landscape project which involved several aspects, such as a new patio cover, New concrete in the front and back yards and several smaller projects, our customer called us back to install a new mailbox. During the original project the mail box was ready to fall over on several occasions. We mention to our customers that the mailbox had seen better days, But with some many other project taking place we believe it was a little to over whelming for them to add another project on the list. So after the completion of the major landscape project our customer called us back to build the new mailbox.

So the first thing we installed was the concrete footing that will hold up the mail box. After the concrete had some time to harden we started our block installation. By using blocks to build your mailbox we know it will last you several years. At the completion of the block installation we started the stack stone on the outside of the mail box. Landscape Orange County

TRU Landscape Services was called out to a customer’s house in Yorba Linda. This customer hired us a few years back to install Synthetic Turf in their backyard. They were now ready to landscape their front yard. They called us out for a free estimate and together we designed the front yard. The husband had an idea of what they wanted. They wanted Interlocking Pavers and Synthetic Turf installed. We began by removing the old grass.

Orange County Pavers

After removing the old grass we dug down the front yard roughly 4” inches deep. This would allow for us to install a base product.  A base product will give the pavers and artificial turf a firm foundation. Some contractors will skip this process or install a small amount of base, but beware because by avoiding the base your pavers or synthetic turf could fail in the future. Most of the time it takes a

couple of years before you start noticing any problems, by this time the company is out of business. A fine point to keep in mind when your looking at hiring a landscape company is how many years they have been in business and Please check the contractor license number with the State of California, State license Board (CSLB).

Orange County Synthetic Turf

TRU Landscape Services installed the base to the proper compaction and leveled it out. After doing this we install a landscape fabric to block any future weeds from growing back through the Synthetic Turf.  Then we installed the artificial grass. The synthetic turf we installed in the front yard matched the synthetic turf we installed in the backyard. This was extra nice for the customer. The Artificial Turf was installed and the customer was very happy!!

Irvine Landscape Company

TRU Landscape Services just completed a project in Irvine, California. This install, was a really fun project!!   It was a  smaller project so the turn around was fast.  We enjoy doing projects of all sizes.

Synthetic Turf Orange CountyOrange County Landscape

First, we graded all of the dirt for the new flagstone. We always like to install the flagstone to a slab of concrete. Some companies will try and talk you into a sand base for flagstone. The sand base will eventually wash out and your stones will move. After pouring the concrete base we started installing the flagstone. Our customers went down to one of our local suppliers and chose the stone themselves. We suggested a couple different stones. They ended up choosing one of our favorites,  Arizona flagstone.

When one crew was installing the flagstone another crew was installing a planter wall. After we completed the wall we moved onto the Synthetic turf.

Orange County Synthetic Turf

Our crew installed the Synthetic turf in one day and it turned out really nice.  The customers were happy. With the artificial turf installed we moved onto installing the interlocking pavers.
