Anaheim Backyard: Decluttered

Man alive! This backyard was past its prime. Even for a person who likes cactus, it was a bit too crowded, and the concrete patio area was cracking. TRU Landscape Services was able to give more space to the backyard by installing a wonderful pavers patio, a big green lawn, and stacked stone retainer walls around the yard.

Westminster Front Yard Spruce Up

Okay, so this front yard landscape was just… boring at first. Our crews installed a brand new walkway with planter walls that lead straight to the front door. The front porch was blinged out with the installation of ceramic tile. One of my personal favorites about this front yard landscape are the birch type trees installed in the planters with low voltage LED lighting pointing up at them. Looks really nice at night with the landscape lighting on! Another “special feature” of this new landscape are the LED step lights to illuminate the path.

Here is one of our latest projects in your area! The pictures included in this blog are all from the same Anaheim Hills landscape construction project. We removed the existing backyard planters, retainer walls, and concrete patio and replaced it with synthetic turf and interlocking pavers.

The pavers color used is Pastello, and the planter wall is Orco Bull Nose Buff. These pavingstone blends have different names but match up well. Tree Removal becomes Concrete Repair

Our latest commercial landscape job turned out to be more than just a tree removal. Luckily, TRU Landscape Services is also a premiere Orange County concrete repair and construction company. We were able to complete the job in a day, and our customer didn’t have to call in separate independent contractors.

The story begins when TRU Landscape was called out to Anaheim California for a estimate to remove a tree. During the estimate, our salesman realized that the tree removal was actually a curb removal and replacement too.

The project came about because someone planted a Eucalyptus tree in a small planter. The tree soon grew too big for the planter, raised up the curb and gutter, and damaged the parking lot. This raised up curb created a tripping hazard.

Orange County Concrete

Our tree crew removed the eucalyptus tree and our concrete team began removing the curb and gutter. First, the landscape concrete crew saw-cut the surrounding concrete from the parking lot. This provides separation between the concrete and the asphalt so that when our bobcat removes the concrete we don’t damage the parking lot.

After removing the concrete curb, we brought in our stump grinder and we removed the stump. All of the materials that we remove are recycled in Orange County, including concrete.

Once all of the debris were removed, our crew started setting up the forms to hold the concrete in place for the curb and gutter. When the crew began installing the forms, the foreman called up the concrete truck to bring in the concrete. Efficiency is very important to us, so we always have one portion of construction ready right after the other. After installing the concrete and letting it set up, we pulled the forms off of the finished concrete. This is the important part of the job to make sure the whole project turns out looking smooth and professional. The icing on the cake.

This entire job was finished in a day! Had we just been a tree removal company, our customer would have had to hire out separate concrete contractors for the rest of the job. Instead, we were able to solve their problem in a timely manner.

Orange County Landscape

TRU Landscape Services just finished a Landscape renovation in Orange County. The Church that hired us had over 100 Rose bushes in the front of the church. This was a problem because after Sunday services the children would be playing in the rose bushes. Another problem the church had was a busy street in front of the property. During the week the church has a child care program and there is no fence to keep the children from running out into the street. The first phase of this landscape renovation was to move the Rose bushes. The church didn’t want to throw away the roses, so we moved them onto another part of the property. The best time of the year to move roses is during the winter. So the first problem we faced was that it was the middle of the summer and it was very hot outside. This is not the best time of the year to move the roses. After explaining this to our customer we agreed to move forward. On the first day we moved all of the Roses and started the irrigation.

Orange County Sprinklers

TRU Landscape Services provides all different types of irrigation services in Orange County. For these Rose Bushes we installed the new Toro water saver nozzles. First we installed new pipes along all of the roses. Then we installed the new sprinklers. After flushing the new sprinklers out we installed the water saving nozzles. Right after finishing the sprinkler system we turned on the water. We thought it would be best to water the Roses twice a day. We are happy to say that all of the Roses lived through the landscape renovation.

Orange County Block Wall

The second phase of this project was to install a new fence around the front of the property. First we installed the block pilasters. We built the pilasters out of Split Face blocks. These blocks do cost more to install but we feel like the appearance is well worth the money. After finishing the block pilasters we moved forward to the installing of the Wrought Iron fencing. Our customer was extremely happy with the new fencing!!

TRU Landscape Services just finished a landscape project in Anaheim. The city of Anaheim is surrounded by the cities of Yorba Linda and Orange. Disneyland is located in the city of Anaheim. Our project was to install sprinklers, concrete curb and low water plants. We gave the customer an estimate and went over some ideas with them. Shortly after that they hired us to landscape their front yard. The customer wanted a dry river running through their front yard. TRU Landscape Services thought that a concrete curb would be the best application to outline the dry river bed.

Bobcat Orange County

The area in which we were landscaping had a huge mound of dirt. This mound was causing the water to run towards the house. This wasn’t good, we were surprised that the house didn’t have water damage. So on the first day of work we took our Bobcat and removed the dirt down to a level grade. We did leave a little pitch on the yard so that the water would drain forward away from the house. After removing the dirt we installed the sprinklers. For this project we installed Rain bird 4” 1800 series. We installed all new pipes and fittings. TRU Landscape Services has been performing landscape projects for over 25 years in Orange County.

Landscape Borders

After finishing the first day we came back on the second day and installed a concrete curb for the dry river bed. We prefer using this style of landscape border. Being made out of concrete the curb should last for many years of enjoyment. After finishing the border we installed a landscape fabric to block future weeds from growing. Next we placed the boulders in place.

Low Water Plants

On the final day we installed the gravel down the dry river. Next we installed all of the plants. This area could have been installed with grass, but by installing low water plants, this customer will save hundreds of dollars on water. Not to mention that these plants won’t need to be trimmed or cleaned but for a couple times a year. Orange County Astro Turf

Orange County Astro Turf

TRU Landscape Services was contacted by a customer today. This customer lives in Anaheim Hills. The city of Anaheim Hills is located in Orange County, California. Yorba Linda is a city that borders Anaheim Hills along with the city of Orange. Our customer wanted a estimate on Synthetic Turf in their back yard. The customer was asking normal questions about our Synthetic Turf, but they were referring to the Synthetic Turf as Astro Turf. Lets get the record straight, Astro Turf is a brand name of a company that makes turf. There are many people who confuse the short outdoor patio rug (Astro Turf) with the modern day Synthetic Turf. We call Synthetic Turf many different name such as, Artificial Turf, Water-less Grass, Fake Grass and just Turf. But we never call it Astro Turf. Driving through Orange County you can see many people trying to use Astro Turf for their yards. It doesn’t last very long in the direct sun light. It was made for indoor patios or outdoor patios with covers on top of them. There are many steps that we take before installing Synthetic Turf. If you skip one of these steps you will see a difference in the final product. Which leads to the picture below. This picture is what not to do!

Artificial Turf Orange County

The Artificial Turf we install has a eight year manufacture warranty. On completion of our jobs we provide our customer a copy of the warranty. TRU Landscape Services is a licensed contractor with the state of California. We have a C27 Landscape Contractor license #894221. Did you know that unlicensed complaints are up 33 percent in California? We have liability insurance and workers comp insurance. These insurances that we carry protect our customers. TRU Landscape Services is a certified installer for Synthetic Turf. We have been approached in the past to teach Artificial Turf classes. These classes teach other contractors how to install Synthetic Turf properly. We have been hired by cities to consult on the Synthetic Turf installation techniques. One city hired us to teach their public workers, how to install Synthetic Turf. Synthetic Turf is so new that many different techniques are used to install it. We take into mind that Synthetic Turf is going to last up to 30 years. This is many years of exposure to the elements. One company was using a bender board for their edges. How long will a small piece of wood last out in the elements? Not to mention all of the foot traffic. We use plastic in all of our borders. Plastic has been proven to last.
