Orange County Landscape

TRU Landscape Services just completed a landscape project in Yorba Linda California. This landscape project had several different details. Which included : a Pondless waterfall, Interlocking Pavers, and several smaller projects. TRU Landscape Services has been installing all of your landscaping in Orange County for over 25 years. Our company takes pride in the fact that we can install all of your outdoor needs. There is no need to have a interlocking paver company to install the driveway and a pond company to install the pondless water fall.

Our company provides all of these services and our customers don’t have the headaches of dealing with several companies. During a landscape install there are several smaller projects that must be done in the right order. A good example is that the sprinkler pipes must be installed under the walkway before the interlocking pavers can be installed. So if a customer was trying to manage this project on their own, they would have to call out the landscaper to install the sprinkler pipes and the interlocking paver company would have to wait or even leave the job. Orange county Interlocking Pavers

TRU Landscape Services removed all of the concrete driveways and walkways in one day. It took 3 bobcat tractors, one 18 wheeler dump truck and several smaller trucks to complete this work.

On the next day we installed all of the underground pipes and wires. Right away our interlocking crew started installing the base for the pavers. Our design team had already showed our customers several different styles and colors of interlocking pavers. So right after prepping the base we started installing the driveway and walkways. It took our crew roughly 3 days to complete this part of the project. The customers were really happy because they could park their cars in the driveway right away. Unlike concrete we always recommend not parking on the driveway for several days.

TRU Landscape Services loves installing water features. There are several types of water features we can install for you. One of the most popular ones right now is a pondless waterfall. The benefits are very low maintenance and they are very safe to have children around. Our project in Yorba Linda was spread out enough that while one crew was working on the interlocking pavers there was enough room to start the pondless waterfalls. On this water feature we installed 2 small creeks running through the front yard. These creeks are only a few inches deep but they provide the sound and beauty that Orange County lacks due to our dry climate. Our design team walked the customers through the design of the creeks. Orange County Landscape

TRU Landscape Services just finished a landscape in Anaheim Hills. In this project we installed a new grass area and a concrete walkway. The first thing we did was remove the old grass. We haul most of the debris to a recycle yard. Once all of the old grass is removed then we install soil amendments. Most of the time our rototiller reaches roughly 8” inches deep. Most grass roots only grow down about 2” deep. After all of the soil amendments are installed, we then level out the dirt. In this process we will rake the dirt level and then roll it with a water roller. Once all this is complete we can install the new sod. The sod we use is grown out of Orange County, but it’s cut fresh the night before at the sod farm. The drivers bring it early in the morning. Our crews install it right away and get the sprinklers going. Most grass dies in Orange County due to a lack of water, so make sure the sprinklers are covering 100%.

This project had a side yard that was in need of new concrete. The concrete had to have a swale in it. This would allow the water to run to the front yard. Our crews made fast work of it. First they set up the forms so that all of the water ran away from the house and to the front yard. Then they installed wire mesh in the walkway. The wire mesh gives the concrete extra strength. The next day we poured the concrete. The concrete was finished with a light broom finish. We performed all of this work while the customer was on vacation!! The customer had a enough faith and comfort in our company that they hired us and then left on vacation. When arriving home the customer was really happy with the back lawn and the new concrete.

Orange County Fences

TRU Landscape Services just finished a block wall in Huntington Beach. This project was to remove a tree that had cracked the block wall and replace the section of the wall that was cracked. After the crew set up to remove the tree the supervisor had a brief safety meeting with the crew. These meetings are to go over certain problems that might arise. This tree had cables running through it, so the supervisor wanted to make sure the crew knew how to remove the tree without damaging the cables. Once the meeting was complete the crew started removing the tree. The tree took them a day and a half to remove. They finished without a problem.

Orange County Block Wall

After removing the tree, our hardscape crew showed up and removed the old cracked block wall. The wall was cracked by the tree lifting the wall. We also found roots growing inside of the wall. The old school way of building blocks was that they didn’t install concrete into the columns. This allowed the rain water and morning dew to run inside of the wall. The roots then found the water and grew until there was no more room. The wall would eventually cracked. Which is what happened for this customer. This wall took us a day to remove and replace. Orange County Synthetic Turf

Synthetic Turf

TRU Landscape Services just completed a Synthetic Turf project in Mission Viejo. This project was a front yard that we installed in Artificial Turf. The two major reasons our customer wanted new Synthetic turf was first they didn’t have time to mow the grass, not to mention the up keep on real grass. The second reason was the gophers were out of control. Our customer lives close to a school and school yards usually have gopher problems. The gophers were not only destroying the grass but they were killing the plants too. Gophers eat the root systems on the plants which causes the plants to die.

Waterless Grass

TRU Landscape Services arrived at the project and right away started grading the front yard. First, we removed the top 3” inches of soil. After removing the top soil we installed a mesh to help keep the gophers out. The best way to control gophers is to have a pest control company maintain the grounds at all times. These customers never had a pest control company out to the property. The current company we use is not expensive compared to replacing all of the grass and plants. These companies are licensed with the State of California and train all of there workers on the most current methods of rodent control. After installing the mesh we installed and compacted a base product to the top 3” inches of the yard. After compaction we level out the yard and install a weed blocker cloth. This landscape fabric will help keep the weeds from growing back through the new Waterless grass. TRU Landscape Services has been out to several properties where the prior installers skipped the landscape fabric. By skipping the fabric they opened the door for the old weeds & grass to grow back through the seems and drainage holes. The only way to fix this problem is to remove the old turf and install a landscape fabric. It’s better to pay a little more money in the beginning then to have to pay twice for the job.

Orange County Landscape

TRU Landscape Services just finished a Landscape renovation in Orange County. The Church that hired us had over 100 Rose bushes in the front of the church. This was a problem because after Sunday services the children would be playing in the rose bushes. Another problem the church had was a busy street in front of the property. During the week the church has a child care program and there is no fence to keep the children from running out into the street. The first phase of this landscape renovation was to move the Rose bushes. The church didn’t want to throw away the roses, so we moved them onto another part of the property. The best time of the year to move roses is during the winter. So the first problem we faced was that it was the middle of the summer and it was very hot outside. This is not the best time of the year to move the roses. After explaining this to our customer we agreed to move forward. On the first day we moved all of the Roses and started the irrigation.

Orange County Sprinklers

TRU Landscape Services provides all different types of irrigation services in Orange County. For these Rose Bushes we installed the new Toro water saver nozzles. First we installed new pipes along all of the roses. Then we installed the new sprinklers. After flushing the new sprinklers out we installed the water saving nozzles. Right after finishing the sprinkler system we turned on the water. We thought it would be best to water the Roses twice a day. We are happy to say that all of the Roses lived through the landscape renovation.

Orange County Block Wall

The second phase of this project was to install a new fence around the front of the property. First we installed the block pilasters. We built the pilasters out of Split Face blocks. These blocks do cost more to install but we feel like the appearance is well worth the money. After finishing the block pilasters we moved forward to the installing of the Wrought Iron fencing. Our customer was extremely happy with the new fencing!!

Orange County Dog Run

Synthetic Turf Orange County

TRU Landscape Services just finished installing a dog run in Mission Viejo. Our customer called us out for a estimate and approved the estimate on the spot. The project was to install a Synthetic Turf dog run. Along with the Synthetic Turf we installed a wrought iron fence to keep the dogs in.

First we removed the upper layers of grass & dirt. Because this area was going to be a high traffic area, we installed a strong edge. This edge will hold down the Synthetic turf so that the dogs can’t tear it up. This is an essential step when installing an artificial turf dog run.

Orange County Dog Runs

Once that was finished, we installed a layer of Decomposed Granite (DG). Getting the proper compaction is a very important part of this step. Once we made compaction, we laid down a landscape fabric to keep the weeds from growing back in the side yard. With those steps completed, we installed the Synthetic Turf. The Synthetic Turf can last 15 to 20 years! We also include an 8 year manufacture warranty. Our customer was very happy with the final product.

Wrought Iron Fence

During our estimate the customer asked for a chain link fence to surround the Orange County dog run. We do install chain link fences but in this application we thought wrought iron fence would look far better. This fence was important to keep the dogs out of the backyard, so we made it 5 feet high. With all of our wrought iron fences we give the customer a choice on the design and color. Our customer chose a basic square design along with a black fence. TRU Landscape Services just finished a landscape project in Anaheim. The city of Anaheim is surrounded by the cities of Yorba Linda and Orange. Disneyland is located in the city of Anaheim. Our project was to install sprinklers, concrete curb and low water plants. We gave the customer an estimate and went over some ideas with them. Shortly after that they hired us to landscape their front yard. The customer wanted a dry river running through their front yard. TRU Landscape Services thought that a concrete curb would be the best application to outline the dry river bed.

Bobcat Orange County

The area in which we were landscaping had a huge mound of dirt. This mound was causing the water to run towards the house. This wasn’t good, we were surprised that the house didn’t have water damage. So on the first day of work we took our Bobcat and removed the dirt down to a level grade. We did leave a little pitch on the yard so that the water would drain forward away from the house. After removing the dirt we installed the sprinklers. For this project we installed Rain bird 4” 1800 series. We installed all new pipes and fittings. Landscape Borders

After finishing the first day we came back on the second day and installed a concrete curb for the dry river bed. We prefer using this style of landscape border. Being made out of concrete the curb should last for many years of enjoyment. After finishing the border we installed a landscape fabric to block future weeds from growing. Next we placed the boulders in place.

Low Water Plants

On the final day we installed the gravel down the dry river. Next we installed all of the plants. This area could have been installed with grass, but by installing low water plants, this customer will save hundreds of dollars on water. Not to mention that these plants won’t need to be trimmed or cleaned but for a couple times a year.
