Orange County Concrete

TRU Landscape Services just completed a Concrete project for a Credit Union. TRU Landscape Services has work for this same credit union on several other projects. So, when they wanted to update there ATM and Entrance Concrete Walk Ways they called us out. TRU Landscape Services has been installing concrete in Orange County for over 20 years. This project was located in Signal Hill. Signal Hill is a small city that is basically a part of Long Beach, California. TRU Landscape Services will do work in all parts of California for our return customers. With fuel being so high we like to stay in Orange County. But customer satisfaction is our main goal.

Orange County Concrete Breaking

This project was difficult for our crews to remove during the day, our customer was open for business and didn’t want any noise during business hours. So, in order to provide the highest customer satisfaction we removed the concrete at night. Our concrete breaking crew showed up at 4:30 PM on a Saturday and started removing the concrete. A project of this size – we had to move in 2 bobcat tractors with concrete breakers attached. We had a couple of dumpsters delivered at 5 PM. We would normally haul away the concrete ourselves but since we were working after hours we had to use dumpsters. A lot of people believe that concrete is hauled to a land fill, not our concrete! We recycle it! We dump it at a plant where they crush it into road base. The road base is then used for various projects including a base that is installed under new roads. Our crew finished removing the concrete at 6 AM Sunday Morning.

Concrete Forms

After removing the concrete we brought in our concrete forming crew. First thing they do is figure out all of the grades. Grades are very important when your working with concrete. If the project is not formed properly you can end up with the water running towards the structure instead of away from it. If the water was to run towards the structure a lot of bad things could happen, possibly flooding the building. After working for many years in Orange County, TRU Landscape Services has been called out to several properties where this exact thing has happened. Most of the time we have to break out the concrete and replace it. Some times we can install area drains to move the water away from the structure. After setting up our concrete forms we schedule concrete for the next day.

Concrete Finishing

This project requires that we install the concrete in two different pours. Because of the area of the stairs and ramp to the ATM we had to install the concrete in the upper part one day and come back a second day and install the lower part. After pouring the concrete in the upper area, a guard was hired to keep the public from walking into the fresh concrete. This also helped protect people from walking into a construction zone. Our concrete finishing crew did a great job on both pours. We removed the concrete on a Saturday and the ATM was opened up for business on Thursday of the same week. Our customers were very happy with all of the work.

Orange County Hard Scape

TRU Landscape Services was awarded a project in Cypress, California. Cypress is located on the border of Orange County and Los Angeles County. This project is a complete remodel. We will be installing new stamped concrete. Stamped concrete is a process of pushing a form of a pattern down into the concrete. We have many stamps to choose from. This customer’s choice was a Belgium Slate for one area and an Ashlar Slate for another area. When installing a stamp concrete you can choose from many different colors. We usually install three different colors into the concrete. This gives a multicolor dimension throughout the concrete. Orange County BBQ

TRU Landscape Services installed a new BBQ on this project. With numerous companies selling these inexpensive pre-fab BBQ islands, we thought we’d explain how to build a BBQ Island the right way. First, we install a concrete footing into the ground to give the BBQ island strength. Then we install 6 inch blocks with rebar running through the middle of the blocks. After installing the block walls we fill the blocks full of concrete. At last, we install the counter tops. We like to use bull nose concrete for this process. We give our customers their choice on colors and products to be used. TRU Landscape Services has been building BBQ Islands in Orange County for the last 15 years. Orange County Concrete

TRU Landscape Services installed a concrete project in Orange, California. This concrete project was at an outdoor mall. We started the project on a Tuesday night at 11 Pm. We had to wait until the entire mall was cleared. After the mall was cleared out we began removing the existing concrete. This concrete had many cracks in it, which were not level creating numerous trip hazards. The first night we finished removing all of the concrete. The second night we installed all of the rebar and some small areas of regular colored concrete. We attached the rebar to the existing surrounding concrete. This prevents the new concrete from separating from the existing concrete. The main area of concrete was installed with color. By installing two different colors of concrete you create a design. On the third day we installed the main area of concrete. This project had ten foot squares cut into the new concrete. These squares have a one foot border in them; this border has a broom finish on it. With the different colors of concrete and all of the different designs of the borders it really gave this area a nice finish. The main area had a sand blast finish. There is two steps to this process, first we installed the concrete and sprayed it with a chemical (top cast). The chemical stays on it over night. Then on the final day we pressure washed the chemical off of the new concrete. This gives the concrete a beautiful finish. TRU Landscape Provides all of your concrete needs.
