TRU Landscape Services was contacted by a customer today. This customer lives in Anaheim Hills. The city of Anaheim Hills is located in Orange County, California. Yorba Linda is a city that borders Anaheim Hills along with the city of Orange. Our customer wanted a estimate on Synthetic Turf in their back yard. The customer was asking normal questions about our Synthetic Turf, but they were referring to the Synthetic Turf as Astro Turf. Lets get the record straight, Astro Turf is a brand name of a company that makes turf. There are many people who confuse the short outdoor patio rug (Astro Turf) with the modern day Synthetic Turf. We call Synthetic Turf many different name such as, Artificial Turf, Water-less Grass, Fake Grass and just Turf. But we never call it Astro Turf. Driving through Orange County you can see many people trying to use Astro Turf for their yards. It doesn’t last very long in the direct sun light. Synthetic Turf Around Pools

TRU Landscape Services installed a project in Newport Beach. Newport Beach is located in Orange County, California. Newport Beach is surrounded by the cities of Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach. This project was a remodel of the entire yard, but for now we are going to talk about the synthetic turf we installed. We have installed Synthetic Turf around many pool areas in Orange County. Artificial Grass is excellent around pools because it lets the water drain through the turf. The customer will no longer have grass clippings in their the pool because their gardeners will not have grass to trim. Also, there is no need for the gardener to blow around the pool. The Turf industry is expecting to get twenty to thirty years of use out of the Synthetic Turf. Malibu Lighting Orange County

TRU Landscape Services was asked to work on some Malibu lights. We try are hardest not to get involved with these lights. But we do want to provide our customers with the highest customer satisfaction as possible. We had a customer in Yorba Linda ask us to repair his Malibu lights in his front yard. Yorba Linda is in Orange County, California. Yorba Linda is surrounded by the cities of Anaheim Hills and Brea. As we were talking to the customer and explaining why these lights are not worth repairing. I shook one of the lights that was not working, that’s all it took for the light to turn back on for a brief time. Malibu lights are made in China. Do we need to say anything more. The landscape lighting we use is made in the USA. Our manufacture is in Southern California and has been for over 25 years. We have a standard 8 year warranty on our lights. Most of our transformers have a life time warranty. Malibu lights have a very poor connection. These connections go bad very fast. Their connections are not weather proof, which allows moisture to get into the connection causing the lights to turn off. Our outdoor lights use a weather tight connection. These connections keep all of the moisture out the lights. We have found this method to be the best connection in the landscape lighting business. Malibu lights will save you money for a brief time, after that short time you’ll be spending your weekends repairing them. Malibu is only a company that makes outdoor lights. Orange County Landscape Lighting

TRU Landscape went out on a estimate today for landscape lighting. This estimate was in the city of Irvine. Irvine is located in Orange County, California. The customer wanted to get a estimate on the new LED lights. Like most people they had allot of questions about our company and the lights that we are selling. We explained that the lighting company that supplies our lights has been working with us for over 15 years. In Orange County there is hundreds of landscape lighting companies, so why use one company? It’s a simple answer, They have great service!

One of the questions our customer had was, How efficient are LED lights? The simple answer is that the typical LED fixture will produce the equivalent light output using about 80% less energy. A great comparison is a 20-watt MR-16 lamp which is the most common bulb used in landscape lighting in Orange County. Compared to 3-emitter LED with high-performance optics, using about 4.5 watts, These two provide light output that is virtually equivalent in lumen output, color temperature and beam control. By installing LED lights we can use a smaller transformer. Which saves money. We can install more lights on one run, which saves money on wire.

Another question our customer had was, How much energy would a typical Orange County residential customer save in one year with an all LED installation versus an equivalent one with halogen lamps? Considering an installation using 900 watts of halogen lamps, operated nightly for 10 hours, the annual energy cost at the local rate of $0.145 per kwh is approximately $476.00 The same system with the equivalent number of LED fixtures with equivalent lumen output would cost $95.00 annually to operate. Another factor to consider is that your typical halogen system would require re-lamping after one year. Your LED system has a average life of 50,000 hours or 17 years of use in the typical application.

Orange County Landscape Lighting

TRU Landscape recently went out to Anaheim Hills in Orange County, California. We performed a night demo for our customers. We arrived at 7:15pm to set up the lights. After some help from our lighting salesman, we had all of the LED lights ready to go. We like to bring our light salesman with us on night demos. This way the customer can see we deal with the best light manufacture company in Orange County. We had the new LED spot lights shining up on some Queen Palms. The customer loved the light from the new LED lights. The days of that cool blue colored light is gone. The new LED burns hotter to give off the same light as the traditional incandescent lights. The great thing is they use 80 to 90% less electricity to light up the same Palm tree.

These customers had a couple of questions about the new LED lights. One of the questions was: Are LEDs reliable? LEDs have a rated life based on the time it takes for the light out-put to decrease to 70% of the original output, which is typically about 50,000 hours or 17 years of normal residential use. Unlike an incandescent lamp, LEDs include no filament, so they do not “burn out”; they gradually decrease in their light output, beginning many years after the initial installation. This makes these lights great for those hard to install areas, like trees. TRU Landscape has installed many landscape lighting projects in Orange County.
